Syracuse football recruiting: Orange get three more 2026 commitments and one for 2027

The Syracuse Orange keep piling up 2026 commitments this month- adding three more over the weekend. First up was tight end Carter Bashir from Philadelphia.

The 6’5” 252 lb. Bashir is out of Neumann-Goretti high school in Philly and that should be familiar to Orange fans as the alma mater of Scoop Jardine and Rick Jackson. Bashir is ranked three stars by 247 and he held offers from Miami, South Carolina, Duke and BC among others.

That list of offers makes it surprising that 247 is the only place that has him ranked, but it looks like Syracuse grabbed a player on the rise. Here’s a look at some of his junior year highlights.

The Orange beat out Penn State, Wisconsin, Virginia and others for top-60 (according to 247 and On3) cornerback Chase Geter from Virginia. Geter is a 6’ 180 lb three-star from Ashburn, Virginia and he told On3 that “Fran Brown was real throughout the process and I want to be coached by one of the best in my position”

The third commit is Pennsylvania kicker Shay Barker. A 6’2” kicker from Kennett Square, PA, Barker has impressed with his leg strength at Kohl’s Kicking Camps. Syracuse was his first offer.

Finally, the Orange landed 2027 defensive lineman Stanley Montgomery from Philadelphia. The 6’3” 290 lb Montgomery isn’t ranked but had offers from a number of schools including Wisconsin, NC State, Duke, BC, Kentucky and Pitt
