
The Richmond native commits to the Orange
Syracuse Orange football recruiting hasn’t been this good in decades and the darts keep hitting their mark for Fran Brown and his staff.
On Saturday, 2026 wide receiver Amare Gough from Richmond, Va. committed to Syracuse. The 6’1” receiver is a consensus four-star recruit in his class and ranks among the top 44 receivers in the class according to On3 and 247.

Gough committed to the Orange over offers from Indiana, Virginia, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, West Virginia and others. Last season he caught 39 passes for 893 yards and 12 touchdowns. Those numbers would hint at his big-play ability as would his state championships in the 55m dash. Fran Brown keeps adding speed at the skill positions and Gough fits that profile.
