On Thursday afternoon, Duke and Syracuse squared off in the ACC Tournament. The Orange kept things interesting for the majority of the game, but the Blue Devils managed to escape Barclays Center with the win.
Following the loss, Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim was asked about his relationship with Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski since this was their final head-to-head meeting. Let’s just say Boeheim is tired of going up against Coach K’s star-studded rosters.
“We’ll have dinner together in the future,” Boeheim said. “That’s the only time I want to see him.”

Boeheim and Krzyzewski have been friends for a long time. Although this afternoon’s loss was disappointing, Boeheim knows just how much Coach K means to Duke and college basketball.
“I’m glad I’m not matching up against his players anymore, I’ll tell you that… We’ve had some great games, some great battles. He means more for college basketball than anybody….What he’s done for the game, you can’t really measure that,” Boeheim added.
Even if Duke falls short in its quest to win an ACC championship, it’ll be competing in the NCAA tournament later this month.
We’ll see if the Blue Devils can send Coach K off into the sunset with one last national title.
