The Orange grab a tall corner from the Nutmeg State
It’s time to start preparing for the 2025 Syracuse Orange football season. We’re going through the roster to take a look at each Syracuse player as we get to know a lot of new faces for Year 2 of the Fran Brown Era.
Up next is…
Name: Rayshon Andrews
Position: Defensive Back
Year: Freshman
Height: 6’4”
Weight: 185 lbs
Hometown: Bristol, CT
High School: Avon Old Farms
2024 stats: Transferred to Avon Old Farms to improve his recruiting profile and focus on playing corner.
2025 projections: We saw last year that Syracuse won’t hesitate to play young corners and Andrews certainly offers a lot of length on the outside. It wouldn’t surprise to see him get some reps in his first season, or at least find a home on special teams.
How’d he get here?: Andrews picked Syracuse over offers from Penn State, Boston College and Oregon State.
What’d recruiting sites say?: Three stars all around. Considered to be a top 15 recruit in Connecticut in his class.
Winners Get Washed: Nutmeg Ice Cream by Demeter is the choice for this player from the Nutmeg State. It promises “Warm and fragrant, our pure Nutmeg is enveloped in fresh cream and garnished with a touch of sugar to remove any bitterness”
Interesting nugget: Bristol is known as the home of ESPN so maybe Andrews can notch a few Top 10 moments for the Orange.
Let’s get a look at ya: Here are some high school highlights from Avon
