It’s time to start preparing for the 2025 Syracuse Orange football season. We’re going through the roster to take a look at each Syracuse player as we get to know a lot of new faces for Year 2 of the Fran Brown Era.

Name: Fran Brown Jr.
Position: Linebacker
Year: Redshirt Sophomore
Height: 5’11”
Weight: 220 lbs.
Hometown: Medford, New Jersey
High School/Previous College: Oconee County/Saint Francis (Pennsylvania)
2024 stats: Appeared in seven games for the Red Flash, recording 33 tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss, one sack and a fumble recovery. Had a team-high nine tackles in a win over FBS opponent Kent State.
2025 projections: We’ll see how Brown Jr. fares in camp as he will be competing for a spot as a long snapper. If he doesn’t win that job, he’ll most likely get reps on the scout team this year as he adjusts to the new competition.
How’d he get here?: Transferred to the Orange following the 2024 season after two years at Saint Francis (one redshirted). He has three years of eligibility remaining.
What’d recruiting sites say?: Three stars in the transfer portal, two stars out of high school per 247Sports.
