The 6-foot-5 junior guard is another talented long-range threat that can help the Red Storm fix their most glaring weakness
More help is on the way to fix the Red Storm’s shooting struggles that doomed a dream-like 2024-25 season.
Stanford transfer Oziyah Sellers announced he is committing to St. John’s on Wednesday afternoon in the first of what the Red Storm hope are multiple additions to come in the very near future. Travis Branham of 247Sports first reported the news.
After spending two seasons as a reserve at USC where he was teammates with current Red Storm center Vince Iwuchukwu, the 6-foot-5 native of Hayward, California transferred to Stanford and broke out in his junior year. Sellers ranked second on the Cardinal in scoring with 13.7 points per game and led the team in three-point shooting (40.1% on 4.2 attempts per game) and free-throw shooting (89.7%). 247Sports currently ranks Sellers as the 104th best transfer in this year’s class.
Sellers is the third transfer to commit to St. John’s this year. Earlier this offseason, Providence star forward Bryce Hopkins and Arizona State freshman Joson Sanon pledged to play for the Red Storm next season.
St. John’s now has nine scholarship players on their 2025-26 roster. The Red Storm have recently hosted multiple other impact transfers on visits such as North Carolina’s Ian Jackson, Cincinnati’s Dillon Mitchell, and Princeton’s Xaivian Lee.
