The first meeting of the father and son rivalry in the BIG EAST has been determined, according to Jon Rothstein.
St. John’s and Rick Pitino will visit Xavier on Jan. 24 at the Cintas Center.
Rick Pitino is 3-1 in meetings against his son, Richard Pitino, but this meeting will mark the first time the two face each other as conference opponents.
St. John’s will head into the season as a projected powerhouse. The program is a top 5 ranked team heading into the season after securing a big time transfer portal class coming off of one of the best seasons in the programs history.
