The Black Knights will host five programs, visit Rhode Island and take a trip to London.

Army has released its 2022-23 non-conference basketball schedule. Highlighted with a trip to London, the Black Knights will look to rebound off a 15-16 record and another Patriot League quarterfinal loss that ended its season.

Opening its season, Army will host D3 Keystone College on Nov. 7. The Giants faced D1 VMI last season, losing by a score of 97-35 en route to a 9-16 season. It will be the first time that these two programs face off.

Five days later, Army will host a new D1 program in Stonehill. The Skyhawks will play their first season in the Northeast Conference and are one of three programs in the league that Army will face (Wagner, Central Connecticut State).

Army will then go on a five-game road trip beginning with a matchup at Siena College on November 16th. Last season, the Saints won the matchup between the two by a score of 83-67 as Charlie Peterson picked up a double-double and Josh Caldwell led the way with 19 points. They will then travel to Williamsburg, Virginia for matchups against William & Mary (November 19th) and Radford (November 20th). The Black Knights are 2-2 all-time against the Tribe and have never played Radford.

On Thanksgiving, Army will take the journey from the USA’s old capital to the capital of England, London for two matchups. They will open against a young Princeton Tiger team who won the Ivy League regular season title and then face either Manhattan or Northeastern on November 26th. Army is 13-23 all-time against Princeton, 6-11 all-time against Northeastern, and 44-27 all-time against Manhattan.

The Black Knights will then take a trip home for a three-game homestand against D3 Merchant Marine Academy (November 30), Wagner (December 3), and NJIT (December 7). Army is 1-0 all-time against their fellow New York academy, beating them by a score of 93-32 in 2020. Wagner finished in second place in the Northeast Conference last season but lose a lot of their team including their head coach, Bashir Mason. The Seahawks won the last matchup by 20 points in 2019. NJIT welcomes in four-star recruit Paul McMillan IV and will look to rebound off a two-game losing streak against the Black Knights.

After that tough three-game stretch, Army will play its biggest buy game of the season at Rhode Island (December 10). The Rams are now led by former Dayton and Indiana head coach, Archie Miller and are coming off a rough 15-16 season. Leading the way are North Carolina transfer Anthony Harris, Seton Hall transfer Brandon Weston, Syracuse transfer Jalen Carey, and Alabama transfer Alex Tchikou.

Army then closes out non-conference play with two games in three days, at Stony Brook (December 18) and at Central Connecticut State (December 20). This will be a tune-up for SBU’s first season in the CAA and struggled last season after it was announced that they had a postseason ban due to switching leagues. Stony Brook is 5-2 against Army all-time. Central Connecticut State struggled in the NEC last season and is 4-7 all-time against Army.

The Patriot League schedule is to be released at a later date.
