The second of five picks is in, Nolan Traore of Saint-Quentin in the French League.
The Brooklyn Nets have added to their 2025 NBA Draft haul by taking 6’4” French point guard, Nolan Traore of Saint-Quentin of the French League.
Traore is the second international point guard taken by the Brooklyn Nets in the Draft following their surprising No. 8 pick, Russian Egor Demin. He is seen as one of the best passers and the fastest point guard in the 2025 Draft class.
Jonathan Givony of ESPN had the Nets taking him at the No. 22 pick, but raved about his fit.
With five first-round picks at their disposal, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Nets take several talent swings, hoping to uncover gems with some of their later selections.
The Nets have a void in the backcourt, depending on what they do with their first few picks, and this situation will be considered highly attractive to any of the guards slated to be picked in this range.
After starting the season projected as a top-10 pick, Traore’s draft position dropped because of inconsistent play, but there’s still plenty to like with his size, ballhandling, playmaking creativity and upside, making him a worthy gamble for a team in Brooklyn’s situation and at this point in the draft.
After Traore was selected, Givony said it now appears that the Nets are likely to make all five picks tonight.
Here’s some highlights.
