Brooklyn has some big decisions to make this offseason.
Bruce Brown, Jeff Green, and Blake Griffin are all on expiring contracts, due to hit the market and test the waters. The Big 3 of Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving are all extension eligible. There is, of course, the age-old Joe Harris discourse that seems to permeate every corner of the internet.
Maybe the most unclear of all is what the Nets will do with starting-caliber point guard, Spencer Dinwiddie, who is due a massive pay raise as one of the better lead guards in this 2021 free agent class. Although he’s coming off a partial ACL tear, Dinwiddie is just 2 years removed from averaging 20.6 points and 6.8 assists. Suitors are already lining up at the door, as the New York Knicks, the Dallas Mavericks, the LA Clippers, and the Los Angeles Lakers have all been linked to Dinwiddie.
Granted, the Brooklyn Nets have a one-up on the competition, holding Dinwiddie’s bird rights with the option to offer the 28-year-old that illustrious fifth year on his deal. The question is… will they?
