The NBA is exploring the possibility of outdoor games

The NBA hasn’t been afraid to make tweaks to the league in recent years, and we could see new innovations in the coming seasons. The implementation of a play-in tournament was the biggest change in 2021, and fans have been loving it.

The league has also stated an interest in staging a mid-season tournament. According to Evan Wasch, the VP of Basketball Strategy and Analytics for the NBA, the league is exploring the idea of staging outdoor games.

Wasch spoke about it on Chris Mannix and Howard Beck’s “The Crossover” podcast:

“We’ve explored it and we’ll continue to talk about it,” said Wasch.”

If this is indeed true, this would immediately set the stage for some of the best games in New York. Whether the location is Rucker Park, Dyckman or Coney Island, if the Nets were to play in any of these venues it would be an absolute thriller. It would surely give off that irreplaceable vibe that comes when watching a high school basketball tournament. It also doesn’t hurt to have three of the best isolation players in the game today in a Brooklyn jersey.
