Here’s what’s going on right now in NetsWorld from a social media standpoint
All the inhabitants of NetsWorld and its neighboring basketball universes are currently concentrated on the stars of tomorrow rather than those of today, understandably so. We’re just a few hours away from the NBA Draft — a little get-together many have been waiting for, but none more than the Brooklyn Nets.
Brooklyn hosting the grand event has nothing to do with that. Rather, it’s the team’s league-leading six draft picks, five of which are first rounders. So while the Nets might not be at the front of the buffet line, picking eighth, 19th, 22nd, 26th, 27th, and 36th, they’ll be carrying the biggest plate.
But just because everyone’s eyes are one thing doesn’t mean others aren’t happening simultaneously. Although we avoided getting wrapped into a KD Twitter rant this time, we did get some more workout intel along with news reactions and a production launch.
Keon Johnson Goes Home
Earlier this week, Keon Johnson retweeted a post from Tennessee Basketball with included some footage from him during a workout at his alma mater. Johnson didn’t just play his lone year of college ball at Tennessee. He’s also from the Volunteer State, being born in Shelbyville.

He didn’t stop there. Johnson also got some work in a few days before with…Tee Higgins? You bet.
Just before reposting the Tennessee workout footage, Johnson shared a video on his Instagram where he was seen playing with the Cincinnati Bengals wideout in his celebrity basketball game, which took place on June 20th.
So Will Terance Mann
The Nets acquired Terance Mann Tuesday evening along with the 22nd overall pick tomorrow, helping the Atlanta Hawks bring in Kristaps Porzingis and the Celtics cut salary. Boston also took back Georges Niang in the process.
While Mann played his college ball down in Florida State, he was born in Brooklyn, which he was noted a few minutes after the trade news broke.

Mann deleted the post around an hour later. Things are clearly still fluid with him and the Nets as trade season is just getting underway.
Cam Johnson Also in the Lab
Aside from his appearances on The Young Man & The Three, it’s been a quiet offseason for Cam Johnson. While he hasn’t posted anything in some time, he was tagged in a what appeared to be a post-workout photo with trainer Moris Hadzija.
Hadzija has worked with ex-Net Dennis Schröder extensively in the past, as well as Jeremy Sochan and Serge Ibaka. The post had Scottsdale, AZ linked as its location.
Day’Ron Sharpe Launches a YouTube
Day’Ron Sharpe, who the Nets are now permitted to engage in contract negotiations with, seems intent on document his own offseason workouts and more going forward. Roughly a week ago, he launched a YouTube channel meant to focus on his “journey on and off the court.”
This week on Instagram, he teased the drop of his second episode.
Sharpe’s first chapter of this new, digital venture showed him working out in a variety of gyms, hitting weights, sharing some quick, and hitting a few dance moves.
