The Brooklyn Nets made a couple of big moves ahead of the 2024 NBA Draft as they traded Mikal Bridges to the New York Knicks and re-signed center Nic Claxton. After those moves, there had been reports of Brooklyn trying to acquire a draft pick and while they didn’t happen, they still added someone that was in the Draft.
Per Jon Chepkevich of DraftExpress.com, the Nets signed Emmanuel University guard KJ Jones II to an Exhibit-10 deal on Thursday. According to Keith Smith of Spotrac, an Exhibit-10 contract is commonly referred to as a summer contract, meaning that the players signed to that kind of contract are fighting for the chance to get a training camp invite.
Jones, listed at 6-foot-6 and 190 pounds, was a prolific scorer at Division II Emmanuel University as he scored over 3,600 points in his college career, including this past season when he averaged 26.2 points per game. Jones was one of the players that the Nets brought in for a pre-draft workout, presumably with the assumption that Jones would go undrafted and Brooklyn could sign him after the draft.
At the moment, the Nets are now concerned with filling out their roster for summer league play along with free-agency when it officially opens up on June 30th. Jones will be one of the players putting on a Nets jersey during summer league play and he seems to be excited about the opportunity to show that he’s an NBA player.

The 6’6” guard scored over 3,600 points in his collegiate career and was the only DII prospect to earn an invitation to the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament.
