Re-signing Joe Harris remains the Nets’ top priority this offseason as the sharpshooter who has called Brooklyn home for the last four seasons is due for a sizeable payday. Good thing for the Nets that Harris has expressed more than once he also hopes to stick with Brooklyn.
But while Harris is the Nets free-agent-to-be everyone’s focused on, Wilson Chandler and Tyler Johnson also aren’t under contract with Brooklyn for the 2020-21 season. Additionally, the Nets have to decide whether or not they’re going to pick up their option for the second year of Garrett Temple’s contract, and Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot’s contract isn’t guaranteed for 2020-21.
Without the three 2021 unrestricted free agents — Harris, Chandler and Johnson — the Nets have the third-highest 2020-21 salary ($131,882,315) in the league heading into free agency.
