The Brooklyn Nets are looking toward the 2024-25 season with the goal of player development and seeing what they can find in their latest rebuild attempt. While next season will be filled with plenty of tough night and growing pains, there will be something relatively new for teams like Brooklyn to experience to shake up the season.
The NBA recently announced the groups for the In-Season Tournament, officially known as the Emirates NBA Cup 2024, and it seems that the Nets will be getting a tough draw. Brooklyn will be part of East Group A with the other teams being the Philadelphia 76ers, New York Knicks, Orlando Magic, and the Charlotte Hornets.
With the Nets heading into a full-scale rebuild, it seems that they may not be too focused on winning games at the expense of playing time for its young players, but this schedule was always going to be tough. As the NBA explained on X, the groups were “randomly drawn into groups of five within their conference based on win-loss records from the 2023-24 regular season.”
As part of the reveal, the NBA also announced what the schedule will look like for the NBA Cup and the Nets will play the Knicks and 76ers on the road and will face the Hornets and Magic at home. Exact schedules are expected to be released during August and the NBA also posted a video explaining how the tournament works during the season.

Group Play games in the Emirates NBA Cup 2024 will take place on Tuesdays and Fridays from Nov. 12 – Dec. 3. Each team will play one game against each of the four opponents in its group.
