NEW YORK — Brooklyn Nets forward Mikal Bridges did not look or sound like a guy who just played one of his best games a member of the Nets. He sounded like a man who just suffered one of the worst losses of his basketball career. Based off what happened on Thursday, he has every right to feel that way.
In Thursday’s 116-114 devastating loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers, Bridges had 32 points and six rebounds. However, he, along with the rest of the team, had their 10-point lead in the fourth quarter brought down because of turnovers. “Turnovers,” Bridges said after the loss. “I started it with the turnover and then it just went after that just turnovers and just didn’t execute.”
Brooklyn turned the ball over three times in the final 1:18 of the game and those miscues allowed Cleveland to get back into the game in a hurry. As a team, the Nets had 15 turnovers that led to 20 points for the Cavaliers, including those final few minutes in the fourth quarter. It looked like those turnovers came from the team not being prepared for how Cleveland was going to pressure them to make their comeback. “You just got to figure it out,” Bridges continued. “I don’t got the right answers, got to figure it out. Maybe it’s film or something but, it’s frustrating but, we just gotta figure it out.”
