The Brooklyn Nets have been identified by rival teams as a possible candidate to move up in the draft after they fell from No. 6 to No. 8 after Monday’s lottery. The Nets own three additional draft picks in the 2025 draft with Nos. 19, 26 and 27. Brooklyn also own a number of future draft picks via their trades of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and Mikal Bridges.
The Nets will also enter the free agency period with the most cap space in the NBA. The free agent class is considered a down one with trade talks involving the likes of Durant and Giannis Antetokounmpo expected to dominate the offseason business.
Brooklyn has long been linked with Antetokounmpo, but their inability to capture a top pick in the 2025 draft could limit their ability to put together a compelling trade package to the Milwaukee Bucks.
