It was long overdue, but Nets rookie Cam Thomas has finally notched his first double-digit scoring game and it could not come at a better time for them than on Monday. After defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers 117-112, Kevin Durant (27 PTS, 9 ASTS) and LaMarcus Aldridge (21 PTS,11 REBS) combined for 48 points, but somehow still found themselves down 12 in the first half.
With some momentum slowly building for the Nets in the third period, Thomas got the nod from head coach Steve Nash to capitalize on it. It was then where the rookie put up a quick eight points to give Brooklyn the lead. Going into the fourth quarter, the Nets were able to handle business according to plan on their way to putting the finishing touches on the Cavaliers.
Of course, Durant, Aldridge and Nash were left raving about their rookie’s performance after the game.
