The Brooklyn Nets organization have teamed up with the Joe and Clara Tsai Foundation to send 2,400 public school students to the Jean-Michel Basquiat: King Pleasure educational tour.
The tour will allow students to learn about the famous American artist Jean-Michael Basquiat, showcasing some of his works in person. This opportunity will teach kids of Basquiat’s family, heritage and ties to local schools and museums.
This isn’t the first time that the Nets have decided to showcase Basquiat’s work, since last year the team partnered with the New York City Department of Education and the Fund for Public Schools to create an art program based on his works.
Basquiat’s sister made a statement appreciating the continued support of Jean-Michaels’ work.
“We are very excited about this initiative from the Nets and the Joe and Clara Tsai Foundation,” said Lisane Basquiat. “We are currently working to create even more educational programming and materials for students and families.”
