The Brooklyn Nets visited Fiserv Forum on Thursday to take on the Milwaukee Bucks for the third and final time this season and lost 115-108.
For the Nets, Mikal Bridges had 24 points and six rebounds while Nic Claxton had 22 points and nine rebounds. Cam Thomas has 21 points and Cam Johnson had 17 points.
For the Bucks, Damian Lillard had 30 points and 12 assists while Giannis Antetokounmpo had 21 points and nine rebounds. Brook Lopez had 17 points and Malik Beasley had 16 points.
In the first half, the Nets managed to hang with the Bucks thanks to Cam Thomas and Mikal Bridges getting off to good shooting starts at the same time to keep up with Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo and Brook Lopez. Things fell off the rails in the second quarter as Brooklyn could not stop the Bucks on the offensive end in any way possible, including giving up nine points on three three-pointers to bench sharpshooter AJ Green.
In the second half, the Nets began the half in dominant fashion as they seemingly got back into the game within just a few minutes thanks to Brooklyn finally hitting some shots within short succession. In the fourth quarter, the Nets were able to get back from trailing by 20 points to leading by four points in the middle of the period before Brooklyn’s poor late-game execution came back to bite them as it has done all season to this point.
