NEW YORK – Mike Brown hasn’t waited. Since joining the New York Knicks earlier this month, he’s cleared out five assistant coaches. League sources told Stefan Bondy of The New York Post that Andy Greer, Dice Yoshimoto, Daniel Brady, and Othella Harrington are all out. The Knicks fired these assistants quietly but decisively as Brown begins reshaping the bench to his vision.

Yoshimoto Exit Ends a Long Thibodeau Link
Yoshimoto stands out among the exits. He followed Tom Thibodeau from Chicago to Minnesota, then to New York. He even led the Knicks’ Summer League team to the 2022 finals. But Jordan Brink, a video department standout, replaced him this summer. The Knicks fired assistants who carried Thibodeau’s voice. Brown seems determined to make the room his.
Thibodeau’s Nephew Also Let Go

Nick Thibodeau, Tom’s nephew and former assistant video coordinator, is also gone. HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto confirmed it. The Knicks have made changes to the coaching staff without public drama, but the moves are sweeping. It marks a clear end to the Thibodeau era—even in the film room.
The New York Knicks won’t retain assistant coaches Othella Harrington, Daniel Brady, Dice Yoshimoto, and assistant video coordinator Nick Thibodeau, nephew of Tom Thibodeau, league sources told @hoopshype. According to @SbondyNBA, Andy Greer is also not returning next season.

Who’s Staying and Who’s Coming In
Brown will reportedly keep Rick Brunson, Maurice Cheeks, and Darren Erman. However, Brunson won’t stay on as associate head coach. The Knicks want a new face for that role. They even asked the Pelicans about James Borrego. He declined, choosing to stay in New Orleans.
Brown is turning to familiar names to fill the vacant spots. HoopsHype reports that Charles Allen and Riccardo Fois, both of whom worked with Brown in Sacramento, are expected to join him. The Knicks fired assistants from the past to make room for allies from Brown’s own coaching journey.
The New York Knicks are expected to add Charles Allen to their coaching staff, league sources told @hoopshype. Knicks head coach Mike Brown and Allen worked together previously on the Sacramento Kings. Brown is also expected to add Riccardo Fois whom he worked with in Sacramento. https://t.co/B2mdcRuW69

Brown’s Imprint Already Showing
Summer hasn’t ended, but Brown’s impact already feels real. With every exit and addition, he asserts his leadership. Expect more moves as fall approaches. What comes next will say more about the team’s direction than who just left.
