Karl-Anthony Towns’ perspective on the offense of Mike Brown at the start of the season was one of the key things observers of the New York Knicks have been monitoring this season as his comments in October suggested he had mixed feelings about it.
“Honestly, I don’t know… I don’t know,” Towns said in October. “But we’re figuring it out. It’s just different. It’s different.”
But the relationship between Towns and Brown is in a good place, according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst.
“Early on there was some friction with Karl Towns and his shots are down,” said Windhorst. “He is asked to being doing a little bit more grunt work. He’s still having an excellent season, almost certainly going to be an All-Star. He’s averaging 22 and 12. He and Mike Brown are in a good place right now from what I’m told.”
The Knicks are in second place in the Eastern Conference behind the Detroit Pistons and also won the NBA Cup.
“We’re just doing a December 30th check-in, but I’m told all is well on that front,” added Windhorst.
