Karl-Anthony Towns is enjoying playing at home for the New York Knicks. That’s something that Towns hopes continues long-term.
“Hell yeah. Hell yeah, I want to stay here,” Towns said when asked about extending his deal with New York. “Obviously get a chance to be home, see my family. It means more than the money, you know.
“So just to be able to be here with the fans, be with the family. It means a lot. I would like it to continue.”
The veteran big man and the Knicks were unable to come to an agreement on an extension this past offseason. Towns has two seasons left on his deal following this one at $57.1 million for 2026-27 and a $61 million player option for 2027-28. He’ll be extension-eligible again this coming offseason. For his part, Towns said his relationship with the New York front office is great, which could help in negotiations this summer.
“Me, Leon (Knicks team president Leon Rose) and Gersson (Senior VP of basketball operations Gersson Rosas) and everyone, we’re great,” Towns said.
