The brief trade discussions last offseason between the New York Knicks and Milwaukee Bucks involving Giannis Antetokounmpo reportedly “led to hard feelings with Karl-Anthony Towns,” sources tell Sam Amick. Those feelings with Towns “remain to this day.”
Towns has shared his frustrations with his role in Mike Brown’s offense at various times this season. Towns has two seasons and approximately $118 million remaining on his contract.
Towns is averaging 20.2 points, 11.6 rebounds and 2.9 assists while shooting 36.1 percent on three-pointers in 31.6 minutes over 44 games this season. Towns has a player option for the 2026-27 season. Towns is represented by Jessica Holtz of CAA.
The Knicks acquired Towns from the Minnesota Timberwolves before the 2024-25 season in a package for Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo amid luxury tax concerns.
