Brunson, who has been targeted by Haliburton and the Pacers on defense throughout the series, acknowledged that he has to be more effective. “I’m not doing enough,” he said. “There has to be a difference on my part when it comes to that.” Towns then said the entire team has a responsibility to better defend Haliburton. “It’s not just him. It’s all of us,” said Towns, who walked into the postgame news conference with a heavy limp after sustaining a left knee injury late in the fourth quarter, though he remained in the game. “We all have to do a better job of making it more difficult for each of them to score.”

Despite Jalen Brunson scoring 31 points, the Knicks were a minus-16 with him on the floor (plus-7 when he was on the bench). … In at least moderately related news, Aaron Nesmith was a game-high plus-20 for Indiana. – 11:35 PM

Karl Towns has been grabbing at his knee since appearing to do something to it on a drive about a minute ago.
And Jalen Brunson is now in with 1:37 to go.
Knicks ball, tie score, and here we go. – 10:36 PM

I’ve been complaining about officials holding their whistles to see if a shot goes in or not all season, so in the name of consistency, even as a New Yorker, I have to point out that Scott Foster just did it pretty blatantly for Jalen Brunson and that is not how the rules work. – 8:34 PM

More on this storyline
“I felt like in the fourth quarter last game, we were a little bit more reactive than proactive,” Haliburton said. “They got some guys who can just make some hellacious shots. (Karl-Anthony Towns) and (Jalen Brunson) did that last game. I felt like those were kind of taking the air out of us. We were kind of sighing after every one, walking the ball up. Today we’re trying to keep poking on. Who cares? Let’s get it in, and let’s run. Go right back at them. They’re going to make shots. Let’s just keep going.” That same mindset fueled the two previous Game 4 wins. “We just came back with more energy playing Pacer basketball,” said Pascal Siakam, who had 30 points and five rebounds. “And we know that we’ll give ourselves a chance every single night if we play that way.” -via New York Times / May 28, 2025
