BROOKLYN (Jan. 26, 2026) – The NBA announced today that Brooklyn Nets rookie guard Egor Dëmin has been named to the Castrol Rising Stars roster as part of NBA All-Star 2026 in Los Angeles. The Castrol Rising Stars event will take place on Friday, Feb. 13, at 9 p.m. ET at Intuit Dome and will be broadcast by Peacock. Dëmin will become the 17th Nets player to participate in the event and the first since Jarrett Allen and Rodions Kurucs in 2019.
The Castrol Rising Stars pool features the league’s top young talent, who will compete in a mini-tournament with four teams and three games. NBA assistant coaches selected the group of first-and second-year players, who will be drafted onto three teams on Tuesday, Jan. 27, at 7 p.m. on Peacock. The NBA G League’s top players, who were selected by the league office, will make up the fourth team.
Selected by Brooklyn with the eighth overall pick in the first round of the 2025 NBA Draft out of Brigham Young University, Dëmin has appeared in 39 games (32 starts) this season, averaging 10.2 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 24.6 minutes per game while shooting 39.9 percent from the field, 39.6 percent from 3-point range and 85.0 percent from the free-throw line. The 19-year-old has scored in double figures in 19 contests, including a career-high 23 points on two occasions. Amongst his rookie class, Dëmin ranks second in 3-pointers made per game (2.4) and total 3-pointers made (95), fourth in 3-point percentage, seventh in assists per game, eighth in total assists (133) and 10th in points per game.
Already one of the most prolific 3-point shooting rookies in franchise history, Dëmin set the Nets’ rookie record for 3-pointers made in a game with seven (7-of-14) on Dec. 29 vs. Golden State, and his 95 triples this season are the second-most by a rookie in Nets history (Kerry Kittles, 158 in 1996-97). Dëmin has also already set franchise rookie records for most games with four 3-pointers made (10) and five 3-pointers made (six). The native of Moscow, Russia, ranks sixth all-time in assists per game among rookies in franchise history and has recorded four games with at least five assists and five 3-pointers made this season, which ties for the ninth-most such games by a rookie in NBA history.
