It’s a day ending in Y, which means the Mets made some roster moves.
The Mets have placed designated hitter Jesse Winker on the injured list as a result of the back tightness that he felt during his very first game back from the injured list in the first half of the team’s unsuccessful doubleheader in Baltimore. And the team is calling up Jared Young to take his place on the active roster.
On top of that, the Mets have optioned Justin Hagenman, who made a pair of recent appearances for them as their rotation succumbed to a variety of injuries, to Triple-A Syracuse. And Adam Warren, who served as the Mets’ 27th man for the doubleheader yesterday, has officially been recalled to replace Hagenman on the 26-man roster today.
Both of those sets of moves follow the news earlier today that Kodai Senga’s activation from the injured list resulted in the Mets choosing to designate right-handed reliever Rico Garcia for assignment.
