Meet the Mets
It took ten innings, but the Mets lost to the Braves 5-4. The Mets led 4-1 at the end of seven innings, thanks to home runs from Juan Soto and Tyrone Taylor, with Taylor plating two more with an RBI double. David Peterson went seven innings allowing only one run, but was charged with three earned runs after not being able to get a single out in the eighth. Reed Garrett allowed the tying run, and after Edwin Díaz threw a scoreless ninth inning, Huascar Brazobán allowed the winning run to score in part due to a wild pitch that Alvarez misplayed by throwing to second instead of third, failing to get the runner out.
