Juan Soto stole his 14th base of the season, and the Mets have now stole 26 consecutive bases successfully, which is the longest active streak in the major leagues. The longest streak in MLB history is 29, which Milwaukee set last year, and given the team’s recent run of success, there’s a good chance they surpass that mark.

Francisco Lindor contributed another hit in the win, and there are some encouraging signs lately that the shorstop is getting his swing back.

Gregory Soto joined the Mets yesterday but will be activated today. Soto was extra motivated in his recent outing with the Orioles against the Mets, hoping he could show New York what he was capable of so they would trade for him.

Brandon Nimmo has been red hot as of late. Laura Albanese looked at how he’s gone back to basics following a crisis in confidence when he wasn’t named an All-Star last year.

Tylor Megill threw a bullpen and is scheduled to throw another one today. with Carlos Mendoza stating he’s trending in the right direction.

Around the National League East

The Phillies easily handled the Yankees 9-4.

The big boys kept bopping for Philadelphia, as Bryce Harper’s homer powered the way to Philadelphia’s win.

The Phillies could also be in on Eugenio Suarez.

Sandy Alcantara will definitely be traded by next week’s deadline, and he has already packed his bags in anticipation of his imminent departure from Miami.

The Nationals have traded old friend Amed Rosario to the Yankees for Clayton Beeter and Browm Martinez.

The Marlins topped the Brewers for a second straight day, this time by a 7-4 score.

The Braves fell to the Rangers 6-5 in ten innings.

The Nationals throttled the Twins 9-3.

Around Major League Baseball

Mark Feinsand identified each team’s top trade chip.

Aaron Judge was held out of yesterday’s game with an elbow issue. Judge underwent imaging on his right elbow, and Aaron Boone announced that he has a flexor strain and will need an IL stint. Judge will need to DH when he returns, but the Yankees seems to have avoided the worst, as Judge does not have a UCL tear, though as Jeff Passan noted, this type of news can often precede a UCL injury.

The Yankees inspire little confidence and have a lot to prove in Judge’s absence, explains Joel Sherman.

The Royals acquired outfielder Randal Grichuk from the Diamondbacks. Grichuk learned about the trade midgame and got to bid his ex-teammates farewell.

The Blue Jays remained scorching hot with a 6-1 win over the Tigers. Toronto overcame another ace, beating Tarik Skubal to pick up the win and maintain the best record in baseball. Kevin Gausman struck out ten in the victory.

The Reds scored two runs in the sixth, seventh, and eighth to beat the Rays 6-2.

The Guardians and Royals split a doubleheader. Kansas City won the afternoon game 5-3 in ten innings on a Jonathan India walk-off three-run homer, and Cleveland took the evening affair 6-4.

The Red Sox doubled up the Dodgers 4-2, as Garret Crochet outdueled Clayton Kershaw.

The Padres ended their four-game skid with a 3-1 win over the Cardinals. Benches cleared for the second straight day after Manny Machado was hit by a pitch.

The Cubs toppled the cross-town rival White Sox 6-1.

The Orioles utterly obliterated the Rockies 18-0.

The Pirates blanked the Diamondbacks 2-0.

The Athletics defeated the Astros 5-1.

The Mariners beat the Angels 7-2. In the win. Cal Raleigh became the seventh catcher to hit 40 home runs, and there’s still two months left in the season.
