Meet the Mets
The Mets started off their road trip on a high note with a 8-1 win over the Giants. They haven’t had much success in the past against Logan Webb but they managed to push two runs across in the first inning. Francisco Lindor added a solo home run in the third and then Brandon Nimmo’s single with runners on in the fourth gave the team a comfortable five-run lead. The team then tacked on two runs late on a wild pitch and a RBI hit by Juan Soto to put the game further out of reach.
Clay Holmes got the start and was not at his best, but he limited the damage to just one run. He lasted just five innings but a solid performance by the bullpen kept San Francisco from ever attempting a comeback. The Mets have now won their fifth-straight game and look to keep it rolling with David Peterson on the mound.

Before the game the Mets acquired southpaw Gregory Soto from the Orioles.
