Meet the Mets
The Mets had another lopsided victory in their first game against the Diamondbacks this season. Lindor, Marte, and Alonso all hit home runs, with Alonso going 2-for-3 with a walk. Tyrone Taylor and Luisangel Acuña also had great games, each going 2-for-4 with Taylor getting a double and driving in two. Peterson went five innings, allowing five hits but only one run with two strikeouts. José Buttó and Kevin Herget (in his debut with the Mets) each went two innings. Buttó allowed no hits or runs and notching four strikeouts, while Herget allowed two runs (only one earned) with a strikeout of his own.
