Syracuse came out on top in an exciting back-and-forth affair at Sahlen Field. Jared Young led off the scoring for Syracuse with a solo homer and the Mets plated a run in each of the first three frames to get out to an early 3-0 lead. Unfortunately, Dom Hamel coughed up that lead in his two innings of work, but Hayden Senger and Luke Ritter each hit solo shots in the seventh and eighth innings respectively to bail him out. Alex Carrillo worked around a hit and two walks to earn his second save of the season.

Double-A: Binghamton Rumble Ponies (45-22*/21-9)
It was a thrilling walk-off victory for the Rumble Ponies, who rallied to tie the game in the ninth and then walked it off in the tenth after falling behind again in the top of the inning. R.J. Gordon was fantastic for Binghamton, giving up just one run over seven innings of work while striking out six batters and walking only one. He is the first Ponies pitcher to go at least seven innings on two occasions this season. It was also a huge night at the plate for Carson Benge, who logged three hits, including a triple in the ninth. Benge then crossed the plate with the game-tying run. Though Jett Williams took an 0-fer, he did provide the walk-off RBI with a sacrifice fly in the tenth.

It was a night Colin Houck would rather forget; he took an 0-fer and struck out three times.
