Triple-A: Syracuse Mets (31-44/10-3)
SYRACUSE 13, LEHIGH VALLEY 5 (BOX)
Rehabbing Mets Sean Manea and Brooks Raley both made rehab appearances to mixed results. Manea looked strong in the first, gave up a three-run homer in the second, looked strong in the third, and a little shaky in the fourth before being removed from the game. Raley relieved him and got that final important out in the fourth and then threw a scoreless fifth. The offense, meanwhile, initially struggled against top prospect Andrew Painter but were able to knock him out of the game and take the lead in the sixth. Lehigh Valley quickly tied things back up in the top of the seventh, but with Painter gone, Syracuse finally had their sea legs under them and the offense put up a seven spot in the bottom of the seventh to put the game to bed.

Double-A: Binghamton Rumble Ponies (45-22*/9-4)
BINGHAMTON 16, ALTOONA 3 (BOX)
You ever have one of those kinds of days at work where things suck, but time isn’t even kind enough to pass quickly and every minute, every second, seems excruciatingly long? Altoona right-hander Po-Yu Chen probably felt like that while on the mound, as he took one on the chin and allowed a whopping 9 earned runs in 3.0 innings, allowing 11 hits and walking one while failing to record a single strikeout. Po allowed three runs in the first on a Ryan Clifford homer, two more in the second on a Carson Benge single, and four more in the third on RBI hits from Wyatt Young, Jett Williams, and once again Benge. Joander Suarez was a little shaky early on, allowing two runs in the first and one in the second, but settled down. As is generally the case with high-scoring affairs, plenty of Rumble Ponies had great numbers on the night. The team scored a season-high 16 runs with every hitter except for JT Schwartz getting on base at least once. Ryan Clifford and Nick Morabito both got on base twice, Kevin Parada got on base three times, D’Andre Smith and Jett Williams both got on base four times, and Carson Benge and Wyatt Young both got on base an impressive five times.

High-A: Brooklyn Cyclones (46-20*/8-8)
WILMINGTON 4, BROOKLYN 1 (BOX)
Early on, Will Watson was cruising, and he and Wilmington starter Jake Bennett put up zero after zero after zero. In the fourth, the thunder and lightning unfortunately became something more substantial, the wind began whipping up and blowing sand into the ballpark, and the game went into a rain delay for about two hours When the game resumed, the two bullpens continued putting up zeroes; going into the seventh inning, both teams were not only scoreless, but were also hitless. Wilmington finally logged a hit with two outs in the seventh and then ended up scoring four runs in the eighth. In the bottom of the eighth, Brooklyn logged their first hit and plated a run, breaking up the no-hitter and the shutout, but weren’t able to pick up additional runs.

Single-A: St. Lucie Mets (34-31*/9-6)
BRADENTON 11, ST. LUCIE 4 (BOX)
To quote the esteemed and very well-respected Captain Tarpals, “Ouch time.” Things started out fine, St. Lucie even took an early lead in the top of the second inning. Frank Elissalt allowed a run in the third to tie things back up and then a run in the fourth to give the Marauders the lead, and then things went sideways. After allowing a single and walking a batter in the fifth, Elissalt was replaced by Estarlin Escalante and the right-hander immediately gave up a three-run homer. Escalante proceeded to allow three more runs before ending the inning, turning what was a close 2-1 ballgame into a 9-1 laughter. Bradenton scored a two more runs before everything was said and done and St. Lucie had some ninth-inning death throes, but this is definitely one to forget.
