Catch up on all the Mets prospects in yesterday’s minor league action!
Triple-A: Syracuse Mets (31-44/21-7)
BUFFALO 1, SYRACUSE 0 (BOX)
No one likes shutouts, unless you are the one doing the shutting out. In this case, Syracuse was the shutoutee, while Buffalo was the shutouter. In the sixth, with two outs and two men on, a Pablo Reyes fielding error allowed Orelvis Martinez to score from second, and that was all she wrote. Blade Tidwell didn’t pitch great, but he got the job done for four innings. The same can’t be said about the offense, which went 6-29 and went 07 with runners in scoring position.

Double-A: Binghamton Rumble Ponies (45-22*/19-9)
HARRISBURG 6, BINGHAMTON 5 (BOX)
Joander Suarez allowed three runs over six innings, giving all three up in the bottom of the first on a Kevin Made three-run homer, and then settling down and firing off five scoreless innings, retiring 15 of 16 in a row. The Rumble Ponies chipped away and eventually tied things up, with Carson Benge plating a run in the bottom of the first, Ryan Clifford in the bottom of the fourth, and Jacob Reimer in the bottom of the fifth. Both teams scored a run apiece in the seventh, but Harrisburg scored two in the eighth to Binghamton’s one, leaving them trailing by one going into the bottom of the ninth with Benge, Clifford, and Reimer all due up 1-2-3. Facing former friend Junior Santos, Benge grounded out and Clifford struck out on a steady diet of sliders and changeups, both of which looked a lot better than what he was throwing when he was a Mets prospect. Jacob Reimer worked a walk on a 3-2 count that arguably could’ve been called a strike, but the next batter, D’Andre Smith flew out to end the ballgame after grinding out an excellent at-bat.

High-A: Brooklyn Cyclones (46-20*/13-18)
JERSEY SHORE 7, BROOKLYN 4 (BOX)
It was a war of attrition, but the BlueClaws sadly outlasted the Cyclones. Brooklyn used six pitchers and every single one of them allowed at least one earned run. The heart of the Cyclones lineup wasn’t bad, going 6-12 with a double, but the rest of the lineup went 2-23 with a walk and a double. That’s not how you win ballgames, and Brooklyn dropped another one.

Single-A: St. Lucie Mets (34-31*/21-9)
ST. LUCIE 12, JUPITER 7 (BOX)
Trey McLoughlin made his first appearance in roughly a month since being put on the Injured List due to a foot issue and looked sold, throwing a scoreless inning. Bryce Jenkins made his second since returning to the mound after missing all of 2024 and did not, allowing three runs (one earned) on three walks, failing to record a single out. St. Lucie battled back and scored three runs of their own to tie things up at 3-3 in the fourth inning, but things didn’t stay tied long, as Jose Chirinos gave up four runs in the bottom of the fifth. The Mets battled back, having another three-run inning in the seventh, and then went supernova in the eighth, scoring six runs and taking a 12-7 lead. Wilson Lopez injured himself in the bottom of the ninth, but that is the only noteworthy thing to happen after St. Lucie took the lead.
