Catch up on all the Mets prospects in yesterday’s minor league action!
Triple-A: Syracuse Mets (29-41)
JACKSONVILLE 6, SYRACUSE 4 (BOX)
Having been swept by the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders and having lost eight in a row, I was hoping that Syracuse would rebound, but a win against the second-place Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp was going to be a tall order, and sure enough, Syracuse dropped another one, their ninth in a row now. For a while, it was looking like the Mets might actually do it, as they took a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the seventh, but Chris Devenski had a ninth-inning meltdown that led to 4 Jacksonville runs.

Double-A: Binghamton Rumble Ponies (42-20)
HARRISBURG 7, BINGHAMTON 3 (BOX)
Zach Thornton had his worst game in about a month…and ironically, that game was against the Harrisburg Senators, too. The southpaw labored and needed almost 70 pitches to throw just 3.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits and 2 walks, with just 2 strikeouts. Former Met prospect Tyler Stuart took the mound for the Senators and had a little more success, limiting Binghamton to just one run over 5.2 innings. Former prospects Daison Acosta and Junior Santos also pitched against Binghamton, the former earning a hold in the eighth inning and the latter shutting down the Rumble Ponies in the ninth for the save.

High-A: Brooklyn Cyclones (44-20)
BROOKLYN 10, ABERDEEN 2 (BOX)
Both teams scored early on, Brooklyn one run in the top of the first and Aberdeen two runs in the bottom of the frame, and then we had a whole lot of nothing. I mean a whole lot, six innings worth. With their backs against the wall, the Cyclones came roaring back with the force of a thousand suns, scoring four runs in the eighth and five runs in the ninth, turned what looked like it might’ve been a tough 2-1 loss into a 10-2 laughter

Single-A: St. Lucie Mets (34-29)
PALM BEACH 11, ST. LUCIE 4 (BOX)
Early on, we had a competitive ballgame, with the score eventually tying 2-2 in the fifth. Brooks Raley looked fine in his first rehab appearance, the newly promoted Daviel Hurtado continued his impressive season with three scoreless innings and four more strikeouts to add to his ledger, and the offense scored a couple of runs on a bunch of hits and walks. Irving Cota, who allowed a pair of runs in the top of the fifth, went back out for the sixth, and let’s just say he shouldn’t have. The right-hander allowed four runs on five hits before being replaced by Hunter Hodges, who allowed three more. St. Lucie rallied a bit, scoring two runs in the seventh, but that barely chipped into the Cardinal’s lead to begin with, and Jorge De Leon gave both runs right back in the top of the ninth anyway.
