Triple-A: Syracuse Mets (14-17)
SYRACUSE 6, SCRANTON/WILKES-BARRE 3 (BOX)
Drew Gilbert and Joey Meneses both drove in a run apiece in the bottom of the first to give Syracuse an early lead. Jared Young added a run in the bottom of the sixth to make it 3-0, but the RailRiders put up a three-spot on the top of the seventh off of Tyler Zuber to knot things up at 3-3. Syracuse grinder out a bases loaded situation in the bottom of the inning and put up a three-spot of their own, and that was the ballgame. Southpaw Felipe De La Cruz made the start and was phenomenal in his Triple-A debut, throwing six innings of one-hit ball with nine strikeouts, a

GAME ONE
BINGHAMTON 4, ERIE 1 (BOX)
Nolan McLean didn’t have a standout game, blanking Erie over six innings while allowing five hits, two walks, and four strikeouts, but he was good enough, and sometimes good enough is good enough. William Lugo doubled in a run in the fourth to put Binghamton on the board and they didn’t look back, scoring three more. Josh Cornielly let a run score in the bottom of the seventh, ruining the shutout, but successfully shut the door on Game 1 of the doubleheader.

GAME TWO
ERIE 3, BINGHAMTON 0 (BOX)
In the nightcap, the Rumble Ponies could only manage three hits, two of which were by Jett Williams. Jonathan Pintaro scattered just three hits in his four-plus innings, but Erie made them count, scoring two runs in the bottom of the fourth. Carlos Guzman allowed an additional run, but given Binghamton’s offensive woes, it really didn’t matter.

High-A: Brooklyn Cyclones (16-8)
BROOKLYN 3, WILMINGTON 2 (BOX)
The Cyclones improved to eight games over .500 with their victory over Wilmington. The rehabbing Nick Blackburn made the start, allowing a pair of runs over three innings. Luckily for him and the team, they already were staked to a 3-0 lead, so those two runs didn’t ultimately mean anything in the grand scheme of things, as the bullpen kept the Blue Rocks off the board for the rest of the evening.

Single-A: St. Lucie Mets (14-11)
JUPITER 4, ST. LUCIE 0 (BOX)
Will Watson didn’t have his best stuff, allowing three runs over two innings, and neither did the offense, managing just a pair of hits. Jupiter’s pitching corps walked a bunch of St. Lucie batters and hit a few as well, but the Mets bats just weren’t able to string together hits with men on base. Thirteen runners were left stranded in fact, with the team 0-10 with runners in scoring position.
