Catch up on all the Mets prospects in yesterday’s minor league action!

Triple-A: Syracuse Mets (13-14)

GAME 1: SYRACUSE 6, WORCHESTER 5 / 7 (BOX)

Syracuse nearly mimicked the major league side in this one, coughing up five runs after building a 6-0 lead. Blade Tidwell was primarily responsible after falling apart in the fifth, though he does continue to rack up strikeouts with another nine. Both BIlly McKinney and Rafael Ortega went deep.

  • SS Donovan Walton: 1-4, RBI
  • CF Drew Gilbert: 0-3, BB, K
  • 1B Joey Meneses: 1-3, R, BB, K
  • DH Jon Singleton: 0-1, R, 3 BB

  • RHP Chris Devenski: 1.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 0 K, S (2)

GAME 2: SYRACUSE 20, WORCHESTER 12 / 7 (BOX)

Syracuse scored 12 runs in the first. Not a typo. That rally included homers from Donovan Walton and Jared Young, as well as five bases loaded walks and another two RBI from Young on a double. All of those runs and more were needed though, as Justin Hagenman gave up seven in the first and the bullpen bled out more in the later innings. Brett Baty had a pair of doubles and a walk, while Drew Gilbert went hitless in five at bats (concerning given the broader context).

  • SS Donovan Walton: 3-5, 3 R, HR (2), 2 RBI, BB
  • DH Drew Gilbert: 0-5, R, RBI, BB, K
  • 2B Brett Baty: 2-4, 2 R, 2 2B, 3 RBI, BB

  • RHP Ty Adcock: 1.0 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 0 K

Double-A: Binghamton Rumble Ponies (12-8)

BINGHAMTON 2, NEW HAMPSHIRE 1 (BOX)

Jonah Tong struck out ten in four innings (Keith “mmm” sound) and the offense did just enough to get the win. It was contributions from the corner outfielders Travis Swaggerty and Omar De Los Santos – two org depth guys at this point – that led to both Rumble Ponies runs. The bullpen was nearly flawless, with Luis Moreno serving up the only blemish.

  • SS Jett Williams: 0-2, 2 BB, SB (5)
  • DH Nick Morabito: 1-3, R, 2B, BB, K, CS (2)
  • 1B Nick Lorusso: 0-4
  • LF Travis Swaggerty: 1-3, 2B, RBI, BB, K
  • C Kevin Parada: 0-4, K

  • 3B William Lugo: 3-4, K
  • CF Alex Ramírez: 2-4, R, CS (2)
  • RF Omar De Los Santos: 2-4, 2B, 3B, RBI, 2 K
  • RHP Jonah Tong: 4.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 10 K
  • RHP Luis Moreno: 1.0 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 2 K
  • RHP Trey McLoughlin: 1.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 0 K, W (1-0)
  • RHP Joshua Cornielly: 1.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 1 K, H (2)
  • RHP Douglas Orellana: 1.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 3 K, H (2)
  • RHP Carlos Guzman: 1.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K, H (3)

High-A: Brooklyn Cyclones (13-7)

JERSEY SHORE 12, BROOKLYN 7 (BOX)

Jonathan Santucci gave up five runs and didn’t get out of the second and now has an ERA of 9 on the season, so that’s not what you want. The offense did manage seven runs despite only seven hits and a single homer, but there’s really not a lot to be happy about from this one. One small glimmer – Ryan Lambert had another perfect inning with two strikeouts, which was apparently the final straw; he’ll be headed off to Binghamton next week.

  • CF Eli Serrano III: 0-4, K
  • 3B Jesus Baez: 0-4, R, BB
  • LF Carson Benge: 2-5, 2 R, 2 K
  • DH Jacob Reimer: 1-2, 2 R, 2B, 2 BB, K
  • SS Boston Baro: 1-4, R, 2 RBI, E (4)
  • C Chris Suero: 1-4, 3 K
  • 1B Estarling Mercado: 1-3, RBI, BB, K, E (2)
  • 2B Nick Roselli: 0-4, 2 K
  • RF Jefrey De Los Santos: 1-4, R, HR (1), RBI, K
  • LHP Jonathan Santucci: 1.1 IP, 3 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 2 BB, 0 K, L (0-3)
  • RHP Ben Simon: 1.2 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 0 BB, 3 K
  • RHP Dylan Ross: 1.1 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 3 K
  • RHP Jace Beck: 1.1 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 1 K
  • LHP Ryan Ammons: 1.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 2 K
  • RHP Ryan Lambert: 1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K

Single-A: St. Lucie Mets (12-9)

DAYTONA BEACH 8, ST. LUCIE 4 (BOX)

Ugly game from St. Lucie – poor pitching and three errors is a sure way to lose most of the time. Nate Dohm was poor but still struck out plenty of batters, but the bullpen was downright poor and put the game out of reach. On offense, A.J. Ewing decided to run so fast he’s escaped the roster; after two more hits raising his OPS to 1.1.21 and another steal, he’s been promoted up to Brooklyn. On another positive note, Ronny Mauricio returned to the field, singling in three plate appearances as the DH and adding a steal for good measure.

  • 3B Jeremy Rodriguez: 0-2, BB, K, CS (22)
  • 3B Yonatan Henriquez: 0-1, K
  • DH Ronny Mauricio: 1-3, R, K, SB (1)
  • PH-DH Marco Vargas: 1-1, 2B, 2 RBI
  • 2B A.J. Ewing: 2-4, RBI, SB (14)
  • C Daiverson Gutierrez: 0-4
  • RF Yohairo Cuevas: 0-3, BB, 2 K
  • SS Trey Snyder: 1-4, R, K, E (2)
  • CF Kevin Villavicencio: 0-4
  • 1B Vincent Perozo: 0-0
  • 1B Trace Willhoite: 1-3, R, RBI, K
  • LF Simon Juan: 1-4, R, 3 K
  • RHP Nate Dohm: 3.2 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 5 K, E (1), L (1-2)
  • RHP Christian Rodriguez: 0.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 0 K
  • LHP Eli Ankeney: 1.0 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 0 BB, 1 K
  • LHP Franklin Gomez: 2.0 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 4 K
  • RHP Hunter Hodges: 1.0 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 2 K, E (2)
  • RHP Chandler Marsh: 1.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 0 K
